DIY

Do It Yourself.... An idea that sounds so good and fun. I have tons of projects and crafts that I want to do. The problem is that I never even start these projects... I hope I am not the only one that has this problem. I always find awesome projects on the great site of Pinterest and I pin them and think about them all day and then never actually go out and buy the stuff that I need to make the said project! Anyways.... this summer I have big plans for myself. I want to actually work on and finish some of the projects that I have pinned. I also want to read, lay out in the sun, be with friends, watch baseball, be with family, oh and that little thing called work. Yeah, I have big plans for summer!

One idea that I had for summer is to have a "pinterest party"... Sounds awesome right. I also figured that if I surrounded myself with people who also wanted to craft that I would actually get something done. So.... friends who wants to have a pinterest party with me? :)

Here are some of the projects that I really want to get done... Also some that I think are just fun and awesome.

These are just a few of the ones I really want to do. I also want to learn how to thrift... :)

Friday!

We have all made it to Friday again yall! This is good news because earlier this week I did not think I was going to make it through Sunday. Today it is cold and windy here in Oklahoma... Not sure what mother nature is thinking, it feels a lot like winter. I just watched the Boston Red Sox 100 Year ceremony with Cam. It was pretty cool, seeing all those guys, especially the old ones. I love little old men (not in a creepy way), they are just so cute. I also just came across an amazing article about a dog's purpose. Here is the link to the article... Go read it! Or just read my recap :)

The article is about a veterinarian's experience with a special family and their beloved old dog. The sweet dog named Belker was dying of cancer and the family had no choice but to put him to sleep. The parents decided that they wanted their 6 year old son to be a part of the euthanasia process because they he might learn from the experience. The 6 year old accepted Belker's transition with the maturity of an adult. The vet said that they began talking about why animal lives are so much shorter than human lives. The 6 year old exclaimed that he knew why.

He said that "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life-- like loving everybody all the time and being nice." He said "well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

This 6 year old boy was able to put the true meaning of life into two simple sentences. I always say that we can learn many things from our dogs and this boy just reminded me again of these things and more.

Our animals are our family
Love deeply.
Live simply.
Give generously.
Be kind.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Take naps.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
Be loyal.
Delight in the simplicity of life.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

Our dog's treat us with these gestures daily. Why is it so hard for us to do the same?

Thankful (warning... this is a bit lengthy)

Today I am sitting at home resting... I have had quite an eventful weekend, although eventful in a way I was not expecting. This weekend also reminded me that I am extremely blessed and so incredibly loved. As I told you Friday my mom and Kaylee were coming in town and I was so excited to show them around Edmond and have fun doing girl stuff. My plans changed a bit on Saturday morning when I woke up in excruciating pain. I have had pain like this before, I pretty much knew as soon as it started that I had another kidney stone. I tried to do everything I could to not have to go to the doctor, but I eventually gave in (after losing all contents in my stomach) and my mom and Kaylee brought me to the emergency room. The ER was the absolute last place I wanted to be on Saturday (any day really). Needless to say after a long wait, some pain meds, and being stuck with needles the ER doctor came in and told me that I did in fact have another kidney stone. I was given prescriptions and felt good enough to go home, he told me it had already passed into my bladder and that the pain should be over. I thought I was in the clear and feeling much better.

Sweet words from a sweet friend

That afternoon ,after spending all morning in the ER, I was able to hold down some lunch and catch the end of Cam's games. We then all went to dinner and prepared to watch the weather all night. If you do not live in the Oklahoma/Texas area there were huge storms all night Saturday. We also watched "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", well actually I napped during that. I was then awoken at 2 in the morning with a different kind of pain. This pain was also in my abdomen, but it was not completely in my kidney it was more widespread. I tried to shake it off and went back to sleep, until about 4 when I woke up again and went to get my mom. Yes, I realize I am 20 (almost 21 years old) but this weekend I learned that I will never be too old to need my mom. She of course woke up and tried to do everything she could to help me. I again did everything I could to avoid going back to the ER. Sometime in the afternoon I decided that I might in fact die if I did not go to the ER, so Kaylee and my mom took me again.

I am so thankful they were here, I know cam would have taken me if he could, but he was busy with baseball. I hate that I needed Kaylee and my mom to take me to the ER AGAIN. The ER was packed on Sunday, I was in the waiting room for what felt like eternity. After about 2 more hours of waiting I was taken back and they decided to admit me to the hospital. I was bummed and a bit ashamed (I am not one to want any attention drawn to me or to cause anyone to go out of their way for me). My mom was more then happy and wanting to stay with me. Kaylee also was happy to stay as long as she could. While I was staying in the hospital I was greeted with many very nice and caring nurses, Cam visited in between class and baseball, and I brought most of my room with me. When the Doctor called me on the phone in the room and told me that I was going to be scheduled for surgery I about had a heart attack. I was scared to death of the idea of having surgery.

This is when I once again learned that I am so incredibly loved. Many of you who read my blog are my family and I am so grateful for you. You are the ones who prayed and asked other people for prayers. You are the ones who got me out of surgery! Words do not describe who I felt, all I can say is that I felt loved and feeling LOVED is a good feeling! Thank you to all my faithful friends, their faithful friends, and family! I am going to stop talking now, I think I have "talked" your ear off!
Cam was more than thrilled to be in the hospital with me
:)

This is how I was feeling about waiting...

It's Friday!

It is Friday again... that kind of felt like a fast week! woo hoo! Today is my deep cleaning day. Every day I have my own routine that I do to keep the house picked up and tidy. I just have a hard time feeling "clean" in this rental, well because it is a rental... Yeah I know I have mental problems. Anyways... I am also going to do deep cleaning today because my mom and Kaylee are coming to town! I actually enjoy cleaning, it is kind of a way for me to release my stress. Working out would probably be a better release for my body, but ya know we all have what helps us!

In this post I decided it would be fun to make a list of things that I love to use while cleaning or organizing and some of the things that would be my dream to use! This list might also just be a modge podge of how I want my eventual house to look! I am not going to lie I may have borrowed some of these ideas from a couple amazing blog ladies!

1.
Under the kitchen sink storage. I want to do this!

2.
This is just my dream laundry room...
I Heart Organizing is amazing

3.
I want to find something like this for cheap.
I think it is perfect storage little area for a small kitchen area.

4.
If only this is what my linen closet looked like...sigh

5.
Someday my pantry will look like this!

6.
I want to find those pretty drawers...
much better than what I have now.

7.
My dream Dyson vacuum.
I am not completely sold on the bag-less though
because it actually means you have to clean the vacuum more!

8.
These little things are pretty nifty! Use them all the time.

9.
This... is AMAZING.
Go buy one right now!

10.
This is the face that follows me around the house.

Happy Friday Yall!

April 11, 2012

It's been a while...

Sorry loves it has been a while since I updated... I have not been neglecting you don't worry, just been busy! I had the best weekend in all of weekends! I also have that little thing called college to worry about... ya you're right it's overrated ;) (jk mom and dad it's totally worth it!) So my weekend started Friday at about noon when I got out of class. Deuce and I packed my car up and headed south to Texas! Deuce is always a very good dog, but this weekend he was on his absolute best behavior and I was so proud of him! I know I'm lame I talk about my dog likes he is a child.... Deuce and I stopped in the great town of Thackerville to visit my grandparents! They were planting their garden so Deuce and I kept them company for a while. Deuce loved having room to run free and the smells of the country (mostly cows and dirt). He also smelled like a cow when we got back in the car to head to my house. That being said he definitely got a bath when we finally got home. Friday night we had dinner with the neighbors, Deuce got to meet all my neighbors and the neighborhood dogs.

Saturday I talked my dad and Kaylee into driving 3 hours to Abilene to watch two of my best friends play baseball at ACU! It was a quick trip down and back. Rodge and Josh both did not play but boy it was good to be able to see their smiling faces and give them a hug! Sunday was Easter and we spent it at my house this year... Some of the family from Oklahoma and my lovely cousins came down and my mom cooked an amazing huge dinner. Cam was also able to spend Easter day with us and I am so grateful that he enjoys spending time with my crazy fam. We died Easter eggs... how can you have Easter without egg dying!

Cam and I then went to his house and loaded up in the car to head to see the Rangers play! We sat in the homerun porch and we filled up almost a whole row. Cam's family is amazing and so incredibly close I absolutely love it! We had everyone together expect two and a half of our Oklahoma fam... Coby and Bradey were in Oklahoma, she is busy cooking up a baby Mav! :)

Here are some of the pictures I took with my handy dandy I phone... When I am able to get Cheryl's pics I will post them!

Deuce enjoyed his bath

This is the mug I woke up to Saturday morning

Josh & Rodge are in that line!

Marley & Cam enjoyed bonding time in the chair

Easter Weekend!

It is Easter weekend, well almost! I am getting Deuce and I ready to head home to Texas. Cam and Cory and their dad are in Kansas playing baseball, they should be back to Texas on Saturday. So, for now it is just me and my Deuce. He and I are going to have a sleep over at Cam's parents house, I would keep him at mine but my little dog is a grumpy old lady!

This weekend will be full of fun, family, and BASEBALL!!! Although I am missing the games in Emporia this weekend I do get to catch a game in Abilene! I am so excited to see two of my favorite boys play for ACU! I will hopefully remember to take some good pictures (although they will not be Cheryl Mav quality). It will be a quick trip to West Texas, but it will be well worth it. Sunday will be a great Easter morning spent with my family and some alone time with my Great God, then we will head back to Oklahoma. Oh... AND I have great news! Sunday at 7:05 I will be at RANGER'S STADIUM!!! CAN NOT WAIT to watch my rangers! :) I hope yall have a great Easter weekend, love on your fam!

Here are a few of the people I can not wait to see this weekend and also some awesome Easter decorations that I am just loving!

Who makes eggs like this?!

I also can not wait to see my Mom, Dad, Kenn, Sam, Kaylee, Cam, Randi, Josh, Rodge,  Ally, Jay, Cory, Cheryl, Jim, Crayton, Braelynn, Camden, Gram and Papa. :) Oh, and my pups!
I am SO blessed to be able to have all of those people in my life!

So grateful that we have a great God and that he is love, mercy, grace, and EVERYTHING I will ever need!

Clean Freaks

Yall... I have found the BEST show in all the land! It is on HGTV and called Clean Freaks! Hello, the title screams bbaaaillleee! :) So I found this show because a blogger that I follow is amazing and she was on it! You can check out her blog at IHeart Organizing . Her blog is full of organizing tips and tricks and she also has tutorials for DIY decorations and printables! She is also a wife and mother to THREE boys! A lady after my own heart!

The show Clean Freaks is hosted by Sabrina Soto who is an expert organizer. In this show she travels around the world and visits other "clean freaks" homes! Now, these people are like EXTREME clean freaks! I was in awe watching this show. They have the most organized closets, pantries, refrigerators, and even kid's rooms! Its awesome. Yall need to watch this show! Here are some of the awesome rooms that were shown on this particular episode of the show.

The Jones' family fridge.

AMAZING pantry.

I could probably live in this beautiful laundry room.

What an awesome entry way!

All of these photos are from IHeart Organizing blog and you can click this link and go tour their entire amazing home. I may be moving in with this family... To bad they live hundreds of miles away! I now want to redo everything in this house and I want color code and organize EVERYTHING!
